The Dawson Group Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Team held a virtual event for employees across the province in honour of the national Day of Mourning today, April 28.
Staff observed a moment of silence to remember those who have lost their lives or been injured due to workplace tragedy and for those families and friends who continue to feel a deep sense of loss.
Mike Jolly, Director of HSE, discussed the ripple effect of these losses and took a moment to reiterate the responsibility each of us has in remaining vigilant about our own personal safety and the safety of our coworkers.
“Always have the courage to intervene if you see an unsafe act and take five minutes to assess your job or task prior to starting,” he said.
