Dawson Construction is finishing up several paving projects around the province as the season comes to a close. At the end of September, they finished a month-long paving project on Highway 5A in between Aspen Grove and Merritt.

A total of 61 lane kilometres of fresh asphalt got laid, including curbs, spillway construction and minor repairs. Dawson Construction’s contract with the B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure also included installing concrete reinforced barriers and shouldering on two thirds of the newly paved highway.

The project was a smooth operation – from the asphalt production at the plant, to the road quality control, trucking and subcontracting – thanks to great management and a well-executed plan. Dawson Construction is proud to share that the project was completed ahead of schedule.
