Freshly crushed aggregate is stockpiled and ready near Kamloops, as Dawson Construction’s crushing crews wrap up production ahead of the upcoming paving on Highway 5.

The work covers 81.7 lane kilometres of asphalt resurfacing for the Ministry of Transportation and Transit, running between CN Junction and Rayleigh, and at Inks Lake Hill. It’s split into two segments: full-width paving on Highway 5 from CN Junction Road to Devick Road South access, and lanes-only paving from the Walloper Underpass to the Ajax Overpass northbound and through the Walloper area southbound.

Crushing began in June 2026 at a local Ministry pit, with paving scheduled to begin in mid-to-late July 2026.
